Patrick Watson, the gifted artist will transform his atmospheric
and cinematic pop into a super-concert featuring a string quartet, horns and special
guests, including Lhasa de Sela and Guy Nadon…
and other surprises. This Bell Special Event-broadcast live by the Sympatico / MSN portal-will be held Sunday,
July 5 on the General Motors stage at 9 p.m., on the
new Place des Festivals, now ready to welcome the masses to this major music bash!
The "new prophet" of Québécois music
After the immense success of last year's live webcast of the Bell Special Event
starring Bran Van 3000, the Festival International de Jazz de
Montréal and Sympatico / MSN come back even stronger with this major concert by
Patrick Watson, the new prophet of Québécois music!
Following a world tour with the splendid Wooden Arms, he swoops into the
Festival with a massive free outdoor spectacle. For his return, "site direction"
of the event (pyrotechnics, etc.) will be handled by François Bérubé
(former vice president of Production at the Festival, now with Cirque du Soleil),
who handled the Grand événement General Motors with Champion et ses G‑Strings
at the 26th edition of the Festival. Urban interventions, projections and pyrotechnics
are just a few elements in the prism of sights and sounds to come!
To share the joy with as many people as possible and keep the party going, Bell
offers online fans the opportunity to follow the concert live at
enmusique.ca/patrickwatson or watch a taped version.
enmusique.ca/patrickwatson will be offering fans the
July 5 webcast, as well as video clips, exclusive video
capsules and photos of the concert, as well as song samples
from the new album. And if that wasn't enough, a special contest
will allow a lucky winner to meet the members of the group! It's a mind-blowing
visit to the Patrick Watson universe.
